TODAY’S DEEP DIVE
Knocked, smiled, vanished

Image: ChatGPT
Scott Merovitch did everything right, or so he thought. A longtime Wells Fargo customer, he got a call that seemed totally legit. The person on the line knew his recent transactions. They said his debit card had been compromised and the bank needed to send someone to his house to collect it.
A woman actually showed up. Professional. Calm. Friendly.
She took Scott’s debit card, cut it in half right in front of his Ring doorbell camera, then left. Within an hour and a half, over $20,000 vanished from Scott’s account.
They hit up local ATMs at grocery stores, withdrawing cash like it was Monopoly money. Gone.
⚠️ Why this scam is different
This isn’t your usual sketchy email or random text with broken grammar.
These scammers:
Spoof real Wells Fargo phone numbers.
Know your account activity.
Sound exactly like a fraud rep you’d trust with your taxes.
And yes, they literally walk up to your front door like they’re returning your lost dog.
By the way, this can happen with any bank. It’s not limited to just Wells Fargo.
💔 The cost can be more than money
This scam has claimed more than cash. In Florida, 52-year-old Paul Schendel lost $6,800 to the same scheme. He was told the bank wouldn’t refund him.
His family says the stress was too much. The very next day, Paul died of a heart attack. So sad.
👉 Here’s how to protect yourself
Never hand your card to anyone who comes to your door. Ever.
Hang up if someone calls saying they’re from your bank. Call the number on your card to verify. Don’t be fooled by caller ID, scammers can spoof numbers.
Urgency is a red flag. The more “immediate,” the more scammy.
Don’t send money or share account details unless you initiated the transaction.
This scam is slick, believable, and it’s spreading.
👉 Use the icons below to share this important intel with your family and friends. Because the next knock at the door might not be a neighbor, it’s a thief.

👀 Forget gold watches and job security: AT&T just told stunned employees no more promotions for tenure, no more remote work, no more participation trophies and definitely no long-term guarantees. Translation? Show up, perform, or move on. I love this. Wall Street does, too. AT&T stock is up 22%.
GPT-5 eats its siblings: OpenAI says GPT-5 is so good they’re deprecating every older model. That means GPT‑4o, GPT‑4.1 and GPT‑4.5 will be gobbled up. ChatGPT defaults to GPT‑5 via a unified “auto‑switching system” sometimes. Comes with “personalities,” can solve real-world problems, and yes, it’s free.
🤐 AI learns to shut up: OpenAI’s newest model finally admits what the last ones wouldn’t: Sometimes, it just doesn’t know. No more flattery, fewer fake facts and a 45% drop in hallucinations. It’s also 80% better at admitting it’s clueless, which is more than I can say for half my group chats.
Bamboozling Gemini: At Black Hat (cybersecurity event), researchers showed how Google’s AI Gemini can be hijacked with a single calendar invite. One hidden prompt, and boom, Gemini starts spewing lies, deleting meetings or opening your windows via Google Home. It’s like a robbery, but your AI assistant is opening the front door.
Siri and I are in a toxic relationship. I ask, she lies, I forgive: Apple finally gave up making their own AI. Thank goodness! Instead, GPT-5 will power Siri, Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence starting next month with iOS 26. Your iPhone might actually know what you meant. Soon, Siri will analyze photos, translate in real time and help write texts that don’t sound like you drafted them in the drive-thru.
💄 Supermodel looks, standard dating app chaos: Oh, cover girl problems in life. Sailor Brinkley-Cook pulled a little stunt. She uploaded a pic of her mom, icon Christie Brinkley (yes, still glowing at 71), to a dating app. Within one hour? Same matches. Same bios. The app didn’t care which Brinkley was which … it just said “yes, please” to both. Talk about being haute and bothered.
Tackle visible aging at its source: skin cells.
Your skin used to bounce back. Now it just... doesn’t. Sagging and fine lines can be signs of cellular decline in your skin that, as you age, hinder essential functions like collagen production and fighting pollutants.
But thanks to a group of Swiss scientists, you can now reverse this decline. The Serum, powered by Mitopure®, visibly firms and lifts while nourishing skin at the cellular level. It’s clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by up to 15%* by giving skin cells the energy needed to keep skin healthy and youthful.
Based on an 8-week randomized controlled clinical trial of 36 healthy women aged 40 to 65 years.

That’s how many Cybertrucks the U.S. Air Force is buying just to blow up. They’re headed to White Sands Missile Range, where the military wants to test how Tesla’s angular apocalypse-mobile holds up to precision-guided munitions.

That’s the position Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, just snagged on Tripadvisor’s list, beating Disney and Universal to become the Jolene of U.S. theme parks. With coasters, live shows, a 35-acre water park and two-days-for-the-price-of-one deals, you’ll be singing “I Will Always Love You.” Oh, I hope you Parton my excitement. 🎢
WHAT THE TECH?

💺 Seat happens.
Just when you thought the sky couldn’t get any weirder. That unholy viral double-decker airplane seat you swore was satire? It’s in development talks with Airbus. Yep, the real Airbus.
Aviation startup Chaise Longue wants to stack passengers like bunk beds.
The plan? Ditch overhead bins and cascade the seats. The top gets a larger recline, the lower row gets legroom and a front-row seat is the leader in the farty party.
Social media hates it. Airlines love it. The company says it’s still early, so no need to clutch your knees just yet. You still got the exit row glow.
LOGGING OUT …
🦄 Answer: B) A startup valued at over $1 billion. In 2013, venture capitalist Aileen Lee used the term “unicorn” to describe privately held startups that were rare, magical and highly sought-after. Some well-known unicorns include OpenAI (yes, that one), Stripe (payment processing), Canva (design made easy) and Databricks (AI & big data).
Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel. 🍻
Before you go: If your skin’s feeling tired, give it a reboot from the inside out. The Serum’s Mitopure® formula is clinically proven to lift, firm and add that healthy glow without fragrance, fuss or filler. Tap here to grab yours with an exclusive 30% off, and start next week looking as fresh as you feel.
